Plucking the 'A' from PETAL
This week, the Fly.io Phoenix Files looks at whether Alpine is necessary any longer. Alpine became an important part of early LiveView applications, providing an incredibly lightweight JavaScript framework that perfectly complemented LiveView's features. With the recent improvment to Phoenix Components, and the LiveView.JS feaure, almost everything Alpine was generally used for in LiveView apps can now be done directly in Phoenix. Code BEAM Magazine issue 1
Code BEAM have released issue 1 of Code BEAM Magazine. The PDF magazine is a collection of Q&As with some incredible members of the Elixir community. Definitely worth downloading.
Hex Search Extension for Raycast
Raycast is a macOS Spotlight replacement that provides much more functionality and flexability than Spotlight, and Jordan Elver has released an extension for it that allows to you very look up package information from Hex.

While we're all eagerly awaiting the release of Phoenix 1.7, Manuel Rubio writes about the upcoming feautres and improvements to the framework. A great overview of all the things to look forward to!
Semantic Search with Phoenix, Axon, and Elastic
This is a fascintating tutorial by Sean Moriarity about how to implement semantic search in your application. Going far beyond simple pattern matching, this explains how you can easily use the Elixir machine learning libraries to implement natural language search. It's not as intimidating as it sounds! Sean does a great job of explaining the concepts and walking through the process.
Test-driving LiveView Native
Jon K. takes LiveView Native for a quick test-drive by re-using an existing simple LiveView app the he had written. It's great to see how quick and easy it is to get going, and a great overview to send to anyone as an introduction to LiveView Native.
